Welcome to the Pace Yourself Podcast
I lost my dad to cancer, and it changed everything. Watching him go through that battle was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced. At the time, I was stuck in my own struggles—overweight, drinking heavily, and feeling completely lost in depression. But something about seeing him fight made me realize I needed to fight for myself too.
That’s when I found running.
I started with just a few steps, and gradually, those steps turned into miles. Running became my outlet, a way to clear my mind and face my emotions head-on. It’s helped me not only with my mental health, but also physically—I’ve lost over 2 stone so far. The transformation has been more than just physical; running gave me purpose again, a sense of control, and a way to heal.
Now, I want to share that with others.
That’s why I started the Pace Yourself Podcast. I’m on a mission to talk to everyday runners, like me, who’ve used running to overcome their own struggles. We all have a story to tell, whether it’s about mental health, weight loss, or just finding that inner strength. Through this podcast, I hope to inspire others who might be facing their own battles and show them that, sometimes, it’s all about putting one foot in front of the other, at your own pace.
Thanks for following along on this journey. Let’s lace up and run through life’s challenges together.
